2007 Ducati 1098

I think I’m in love. Although I’ve always loved the look of Yamaha bikes, the new yellow Ducati 1098 is simply incredible. The yellow color only comes in their base model, with the black and red reserved for the S edition. Either way, its an amazing bike and I definitely want to upgrade from the Yamaha in the next few years.

Long weekend in the Garage

Fixing my Crankcase Cover

Well I joined the quarter-century club this weekend, turning 25 on Saturday. It was fairly uneventful. I had a fun time down at the Chart House in Waikiki for dinner and drinks. Most of the day; however, was spent in the garage working on my bike. I got pretty adventurous and did a little work on my bike’s crankcase. It’s definitely the most work I’ve ever done on a vehicle before. At any rate, it all turned out well and it runs better than ever! I’ll post a few pix later.

Christian’s Wheelie

Me and some of my friends (Christian & Jesse) have been wanting to start taking video clips while riding our bikes around the island and have been looking for a cheap, easy solution to mount them in place. After visiting Lowes the other day, I think I might just spring for purchasing a ready-made apparatus online instead of trying to construct my own. The idea was to build two separate mounts, one for the tank, and one to attach to the frame-slider.

New Motorcycle Jacket

Dainese Arizona Jacket

After a pretty crazy weekend of riding, along with the realization that I should probably have more between my skin and the pavement than a t-shirt, I decided to purchase a new jacket to keep me safe (relatively) on my motorcycle. After seeing the craftsmanship on Jesse’s Dainese jacket, I knew that they were the brand I wanted to go with. All the others (Joe Rocket, Icon, Alpinestar) just seemed so cheaply constructed in comparison. I am a little nervous about the fit of my new jacket since I purchased online and had to do a conversion to euro sizes for fitting but kneedraggers.com has a risk-free exchange policy so we should be good!

Norfolk Turns

This weekend was great. I pretty much rode all weekend with my friends. Sunday was probably my most intense day of riding on the island so far. We’ve all been going to Norfolk Turns for a while now and its one of my favorite roads, but after a few runs there we headed up the Pali Highway to Thirteen Turns and it was amazing. We hit it about 8 times or so and by the 6th time my shoes were dragging on the ground. I can’t wait to go back this weekend.
