After quite a bit of prodding by friends, I’ve finally started to play golf on a regular basis. I’ve been taking lessons up at Leilehua Golf Club near Schofield and the pro there has been helping me to un-learn some bad habits. It’s been hard work but it’s already proving to be rewarding. I really wish I would have started doing this two years ago when Ray was still on the island.
Today some of my coworkers and I participated in a golf tournament up at Klipper Golf Course on the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. It was a VERY long day, at almost 6 hours on the course. Our team was unfortunate enough to get stuck behind a very slow group and we paid the price all day. To make matters worse, I now have one of the worst sun burns I’ve had since I’ve moved out to Hawaii. I look like a damn raccoon. We came in at 3 under for the day and had a pretty good time. I posted photos in the gallery and on Flickr so if you were on the team and wanted to check out what I snapped, go for it.
