It’s been a few months since I’ve been home and I really miss seeing everyone. My parents and sister went up to Chicago for the weekend to hang out and have been trying to make me jealous by sending me photos of them shopping and eating at some of my favorite restaurants. Meanwhile, I’m stuck in Hawaii….stuck….in Hawaii….
Last July I came across a new internet start-up recommended by TechCrunch. Geni.com is a geneology website infused with social-networking. Anyway, I added a few people to my family tree along with some of their email addresses and watched it start to grow! Not even a year later, I have over 430+ connections to my family tree and relatives of mine are adding content on a daily basis. It’s fantastic!
If you’re a social-networking user and can appreciate the cleaner interface that sites such as Facebook have to offer, then you’ll really enjoy Geni.com. It’s painless and has a consistent layout.
Go check it out and plan your next big reuinion!!!
It’s been a really long time since I’ve blogged anything, and so much has happened these past months. After 6 years of service, I’m finally out of the Navy. I took a month of terminal leave and just started a new career with SAIC as a government contractor working up at Schofield.
I finally sold my jeep. I got a good price for it and am happy that it sold so quickly. I only had it up on Craigslist for 3 days. I also got a new motorcycle, the incomparable Ducati 1098. I will be selling my Yamaha any day now and plan on just keeping the Ducati as my only transportation for the time-being.
Anyways, I’ll try to be a little more active on the blog since most of my family members feel out of touch. Joshie, you better still be coming out to stay in June!!!
If you guys are wondering where I’ve been, I finally made it back home for the holidays after nearly ten months away. It was a really long flight and I had countless layovers and delays but it was well worth it. I’ll see you all when I return and I’ll be bringing my cousin and her friend along for a visit. Hapy holidays and God Bless.
My brother has been taking classes in the south of France this spring and we talked a few weeks ago about taking a trip together while he’s still in school. It turns out that one of our favorite bands, Dave Matthews Band, will be touring in Dublin, Ireland next month around the time that I was planning to come visit him. He just bought some tickets for the concert and it’s all set. I can’t believe we’re gonna be there in Ireland watching him perform. With any luck, Timmy Reynolds will be there too.
More updates as they develop…we’re totally shooting this thing from the hip. Hell, I haven’t even gotten my Tourist Passport yet.
Update: It’s May 9th and I still don’t have my Tourist Passport yet. I paid the expedited fee but still, no love. Anyways, I may not be going on this trip until the beginning of June. Fingers are crossed.
